We are back, sorry for the late post, just trying to get back into things around here. Well we did it, we all survived the world's longest yard sale. We left Decatur at around 12:30 on Thursday and arrived in Mentone AL around 2:30, this is when you will hit the yard sale:) and trust me if you ever go try to stay in Mentone, we stayed at the Mentone Springs BB, book early because we had 2 rooms that connected but were on the shared bath system, which meant the showers and toilet were across the hall, not as bad as I thought, but it was an experience:) After exploring Mentone and buying a few things we unpacked our car and headed out for dinner, which was another experience. See Mentone is not very big so we really did not have much to choose from for dinner, and since we were having breakfast at the BB the next morning we wanted to try a different place. We ended up at a some place down the road, it was one of those neat small town places to eat where the locals go on the weekends, did I mention that we had the whole dinning room to ourselves, really we did, the restaurant used to be a house so every room has your own seating, we felt like being at home on a Sunday afternoon. After returning from dinner we all decided to sit back and enjoy Mentone on the grand porch at the BB, it was so great, very peaceful. We all woke up around 7:30 the next morning, and when they say that vendors set up right outside your window, trust me they do:) We had a great buffet breakfast on the front porch of the BB, and hit the road right after breakfast. We hit some pretty good yard sales in the morning and then it was pretty much open land until we hit the town of Trenton GA, this is where we ate at Randy's for lunch, I highly recommend it, the lunch buffet is great, right after lunch we hit the road toward Chattanooga, and yes more yard sales. By 4:30 we were so tired that we quickly found our hotel, checked in, gave Holley Ann a quick bath and headed to Logan's for dinner. We were on the road by 10:00 the next morning, heading to Crossville TN , almost to Kentucky. This is where you can park your car and walk because many of the yard sales are right off the road. We did make some stops on our way in the towns of Dunlap and Pikeville . By the time we arrived in Crossville , we were all starving, we stop for lunch and headed back down the road to do some more shopping, since this was going to be our last day. By Sunday we all were ready to get home, so we made no yard sale stops, just a stop to Subway for lunch. We had a great time and if you ever get a chance to go, please go, it is an experience, and we can not wait to go next year. If you need information, I have so much stuff on where to stay, eat and the best yard sale stops:) I thought that I would list some things that we bought, an antique baby doll highchair, 4 red antique children's folding chairs, sewing patterns, vintage purses and jewelry:)
